The short version

Everything on this site and in the Last Paycheck Kit is general information drawn from published state statutes. None of it is legal advice, and none of it is a promise about your case.

Maximums, not promises

Penalty figures are computed as the maximum the cited statute allows. Many penalty statutes require a willful failure to pay; a genuine, good-faith dispute about whether wages are owed, or how much, can be a defense to a penalty (never to wages actually owed). Agencies and courts decide individual cases on their facts, and employers may raise defenses this site cannot evaluate.

Dates and deadlines

Owed-by dates are computed from the statute's rule and the dates you enter; business days skip weekends, and state holidays and agency practice can move real-world processing. Claim filing deadlines are shown where a statute fixes them; treat every deadline as earlier than you think and file promptly. If a window may have closed, an employment attorney can tell you what routes remain.

Third parties

Agency names, forms, and procedures are described as of October 2026 and are controlled by the agencies themselves. Statutes change; the rules-checked date printed on each page is the date this site last verified them.
